five deaths registered in Martiniq

Since the start of the epidemic in November 2019, doctors have counted to date, nearly 5,800 consultations. The SOS doctor association made nearly 480 home visits. There are also 19 visits to pediatric emergencies.

In town medicine, out of 18 samples tested since early January, 16 are positive for the influenza virus: 8 for virus A (H1N1) pdm09, 2 for virus A (H3N2) and 6 for virus B Victoria.

The number of consultations for influenza-like illness carried out by general practitioners on the island continues to increase.

In the last two weeks, 2100 consultations have been listed. 900 for the last week of February and 1200 consultations for flu syndrome in early March. In total, since the beginning of the epidemic, specialists stop at the figure of 5800 consultations.

In the hospital, since the first week of January 2020, 112 influenza viruses have been detected among the 372 samples tested (i.e. 30%): 70% (78/112) corresponded to type A viruses (predominance of A (H1N1 ) pdm09) and 30% (34/112) to type B viruses (predominance of the Victoria lineage). The positivity rate (number of positive cases / number of samples) last week was 55% (2020-10).
