First wave of foreign fighters arrives in Ukraine, help fight Russia

KIEV, KOMPAS.com – First wave foreign fighters has arrived at Ukraine to help defend the country from invasion Russia.

This was conveyed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky via an upload on Facebook, Thursday (3/3/2022).

“Ukraine has welcomed volunteers foreign. (The) first 16,000 are already on their way to protecting freedom and life for us, and for all, ”Zelensky said.

Previously, the Ukrainian Government had asked people around the world to join the fight against Russia.

However, a number of governments such as the US and UK have instructed their citizens otherwise CNN.

The US and its allies have sent aid to Ukraine in the form of weapons and aid. Not to forget, they also imposed sanctions on Russia.

Meanwhile, Zelensky did not specify where the foreign fighters who had arrived in Ukraine came from.

He also praised allies for sending weapons to Ukraine.

Zelensky said his country received new ammunition every day from their partners, from “true friends”.

“Every day we have weapons that are getting stronger,” Zelensky said.

Zelensky also announced plans to rebuild Ukraine after the war.

He said a program had been set up to help Ukrainians who had lost their jobs and promised that all pensions would be paid.

“Ukraine in all areas devastated by the war received all that was needed. The coordinator’s headquarters are working full time, humanitarian cargo is on its way,” Zelensky said.
