Despite being 73 years old, Sylvester Stallone never tires of making films. In contrast to some other action colleagues, you can still feel the old star’s passion in his films. Stallone has already put his iconic roles, Rocky and Rambo, into what was supposed to be a well-deserved retirement. Now he’s devoting his time to new exciting roles. And one of them is that of the former superhero Stanley Kominski in the action drama “Samaritan”.

This, or so the world believes, fell more than 20 years ago after a breathtaking battle and for the defense of the earth from evil forces. But then a boy (Javon Walton) finds an old man who looks very much like him. Is it really him or is the boy mistaken?
In the current issue of Total Film there is now a first look at Stallone as a withdrawn superhero:

In the accompanying interview (via Gamesradar) director Julius Avery (“Son of a Gun”) raves about his 73-year-old superstar and explains why the Stallone, who was especially known as an action star in the 1980s, was made for this role:
“We didn’t really have superheroes. We only had action heroes. And Sly was the closest thing to a superhero. So put him in a superhero movie? It feels fresh and cool and like something that people will love. “
There will definitely be plenty of action, Avery promises:
“We see Sly doing things he hasn’t done in a long time – and doing it in a truly inventive way. He is 73 years old. I am thrilled by how much he is actually still doing himself. I’m telling you, what Sly does in this movie, other guys wouldn’t do even in their twenties. “
But the focus in “Samaritan” is deeply human nature, according to Avery. The film is expected to be in German cinemas on 3. June 2021 come.
