First Limburgers vaccinated against monkeypox virus in Jessa Hospital

by Bart Husson

In the Jessa Hospital in Hasselt they have given vaccines against the monkeypox virus for the first time today on a larger scale. Although that term is relative since there are only 135 vaccines available. Until October, only 3,000 vaccines are available in all of Flanders, which is why a very strict selection is made of people who are eligible for a vaccine. About twenty patients are already being treated at Jessa Hospital who are infected with the monkeypox virus.
