Diabetes is a chronic condition in which blood sugar levels are highhence the name”diabetes mellitusIn people without the disease, the pancreas or pancreas regulates that level with insulin: you eat, your body gets energy from that food, and after a while your blood sugar drops again. it works that insulin is not good, so people with this condition have to regulate their blood sugar on their own.
More than 90 percent of patients have it type 2 diabetes, formerly known as “adult diabetes”. This primarily affects adults over the age of forty and is partly preventable, although risk factors also play a role. Treatment often consists of dietary instructions, sometimes medications and insulin as the disease progresses.
However, it suffers from five to ten percent type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disease in which your own immune system attacks your pancreas. This variant is partly genetically determined and cannot be prevented. Even a healthy lifestyle is not enough to keep the disease under control: patients must properly coordinate diet and insulin (via injections). Half of these people are under 18.
There are also other rarer forms of diabetes, such as gestational diabetes or diabetes due to harmful alcohol abuse.
