In Andalusia, For several years, the prevention of respiratory infections has been marked as one of the strategic lines cardinals, and an important effort is being made so that every year be achieved new progress in this area, such as the systematic conjugate vaccination against pneumococcus in adults started in 2019, currently with the 20-valent vaccine (link to instruction 2023), advances in influenza vaccination, with high coverage (link) and the start of the campaign 2022-23 of childhood flu vaccination (link to campaign). For this campaign, the beginning of the use of the monoclonal antibody nirsevimab in infants will be added (link to the #StopBronchiolitis campaign).

This forum aims to be a global scientific meeting on an annual basis to continue advancing in this field, in which the technical aspects most relevant and imminent about vaccines and monoclonal antibodies for the prevention of respiratory infections that are of most interest to both the scientific community and the population, especially in these first days of October, in which we will already be at the gates of the new campaign immunization against these infections during the autumn-winter 2023-24.

During the meeting, they will discuss the four major vaccine-preventable infections that affect us during the winter season, such as respiratory syncytial virus, influenza virus, pneumococcus, and SARS-CoV-2for which an important cast of high-level speakers National and international. In addition, there will be a discussion table around public health and healthcaregiven that the investment and return on health results related to these preventive measures that are the protagonists of the day are essential to be able to continue investing in protection against these diseases.

We must be aware that the progressive return to normality in this final phase of the COVID-19 pandemic means that the different levels of health, together with health professionals, are able to implement the best measures available for respiratory infections and in the most effective, safe and efficient way.
