Since noon, firefighters and first responders from Ville de La Tuque have been present at three entry points to the city, as well as at km 150 of route 155 north (towards the access road to the municipality of Lac -Édouard) and the road linking Parent and Mont-Laurier.
Until Monday, they will be on hand to educate motorists about the importance of following the instructions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as well as to provide information on the forest road network that is currently in the thaw period. “We want to avoid people getting bogged down and trapped because our forest roads are difficult to access,” said Ville de La Tuque.
The municipality has taken care to remember that the restaurants are closed and only deliver. “Make sure you have a place to eat and sleep in La Tuque if you have to turn back, because you have not managed to get to the chalet,” warns Ville de La Tuque.
