GALAMEDIA – A severe fire broke out on Jalan Otto Iskandardinata, Sunday 6 August 2020 at around 20.00 WIB, hitting the Tegallega area, Bandung City. Dozens of buildings consisting of shophouses and houses were burnt down.
“Now the cooling process is again. The fire has been extinguished,” said Head of Rescue Department of Fire and Disaster Management (Diskar PB) Bandung City, Yogi Mamesa.
He said that the incident hit the shop houses in the Tegalega area. He admitted that he did not know the exact number of shops that had been burned down.

“The number of shops that were burned is not certain. But what is certain is that there are clothing stores and spare parts,” he said.
Meanwhile, the head of RW 02 of the Animal Protection Village, Dani Ramdani, admitted that he had heard a strange sound that was thought to be the result of an electric short circuit which caused a spark.
“Earlier, the residents had heard about the electricity on the edge of a grocery shop in one of the shop houses,” he said at the scene.

Knowing about the incident, he said, residents immediately contacted the Bandung City Fire and Disaster Management Service (DPKPB). After 5 minutes the officer immediately came to the location.
