The fire broke out in a holiday village located near a wooded area. About 30 firefighters are on site to fight the blaze.
This Thursday, at 5.15 p.m., a fire broke out in a maintenance room at the Bayette campsite, in Le Pradet, SDIS 83 told BFM Toulon Var. According to the town hall, the fire was brought under control about an hour later.
For reasons still unknown, the premises located in the holiday village, in the immediate vicinity of a wooded area, caught fire, giving rise to several explosions, which could be linked to gas cylinders, according to the firefighters.
Thirty-five firefighters, with three urban fire fighting machines, four forest fire fighting machines and a water supply truck, were mobilized on the spot to put out the flames.
