Fire Breaks Out Near Framatome Nuclear Site in Romans, But No Threat of Spread

Near the Framatome nuclear site in Romans, up to forty firefighters and significant material resources were mobilized this Sunday, September 3 on a fire that broke out shortly before 6:00 p.m. in a wood reprocessing company. It’s a composting machine that caught fire for an as yet unknown reason. There is, a priori, no risk of spread to Framatome due to the absence of wind which should not rise. It is advisable to avoid the area so as not to hinder the intervention of the firefighters. However, the fire is on the way to being brought under control.
