Fire alert at the Palace of Justice in Oradea. Several fire crews descended on the building in Traian Park on Thursday evening, after a woman called 112 and announced that white smoke was coming from somewhere in the area of this building.
Several fire crews with fire fighting vehicles, plus an extrication vehicle and a SMURD vehicle were mobilized for the intervention.
No flames or smoke can be seen at the scene.
Incidentally, at the time of publishing this news, the firefighters are investigating the entire area, including the attic of the building.
Firefighters also inspected the interiors of the Palace of Justice, but so far they have not discovered any source of fire.
The military also went up to the multi-story parking lot behind the Court building to see if there was any sign of smoke or fire at the height.
As it is a recently rehabilitated building, the Palace of Justice in Oradea is equipped with fire protection systems.
UPDATE, 22.05: The fire is not confirmed
“The call was received at 21:32 at the ISU dispatcher, the caller saying that she saw white smoke in the area of the Court or the Bar in Traian Park. Several crews from the 1st Oradea Detachment were urgently mobilized to the scene,” said Lt. col. Camelia Roșca, spokesperson for the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Crișana, on Thursday, for Bihor.
Following the investigations carried out on the spot, the firefighters found that the notification to 112 was not confirmed.
“The colleagues carried out the reconnaissance at the Palace of Justice and did not find the existence of a fire. They even climbed into the nearby parking lot to see the whole thing,” Roșca said.
Moreover, the crews were ordered to withdraw from the field.
Two people who were in Traian Park Thursday night said they did not see smoke, but there was a burning smell in that area. “It smelled like burning clothes,” one of them said.
