Fiorentina-Empoli: Empoli Secure Victory with 0-2 Score, Caputo and Gyasi Steal the Show

Fiorentina-Empoli, a match valid for the ninth day of Serie A, ended with a score of 0-2, thanks to goals from Caputo and Gyasi. Match refereed by Federico Dionisi of L’Aquila. With this result, Empoli leaves the relegation zone, while Fiorentina misses Juventus’ third-place finish.

Below are the votes for the protagonists of the match.

Fiorentina report cards

Pietro TERRACCIANO 6 – In the end he doesn’t have to make any saves, but comes out beaten by Caputo and Gyasi. Without too much blame.

Michael KAYODE 5 – In the second half he was almost an added winger, but he was burned by Gyasi, who thanked him and closed the score at the end.

Nikola MILENKOVIC 4.5 – Caputo gets lost on the occasion of Empoli’s opening goal and lets the doubling ball slip away. Also distracted with his feet. Nightmare evening.

Lucas MARTINEZ FOURTH 4.5 – As always the defender does and so does the attacker, but he doesn’t take advantage of a couple of favorable scoring opportunities. Not blameless at 0-1, he lets the ball escape which leads to 0-2. Bad.

Fabiano PARISI 5.5 – Former player of the match, he is appreciable when carrying the ball, but finds himself out of position in the action for the 0-1 goal.

ARTHUR 5.5 – Touches a lot of balls, but struggles to find outlets between the lines (from 82′ Christian KOUAMÉ sv)

Alfred DUNCAN 5.5 – Dangerous from outside the area, he is one of those who try to charge Fiorentina, even if without too many results (from the 73rd minute Rolando MANDRAGORA sv)

Nicolas GONZALEZ 5.5 – He knows he is Fiorentina’s cover man and acts accordingly, even if he sometimes exaggerates in his personal action. He comes close to scoring, but Berisha tells him no.

Giacomo BONAVENTURA 5.5 – He displays his usual generosity, but his performance is not comparable to those in Naples and with the national team.

Josip BREKALO 5 – Willing, but extremely confusing: he makes too many mistakes and Italiano replaces him between the first and second half (from 46′ Riccardo SOTTIL 5.5 – Enters with desire, goes for the shot, then goes off. Too little)

M’Bala NZOLA 5 – Comes out clearly defeated in the duel with Walukiewicz and Luperto. He has few clean balls and he doesn’t exploit those few properly (from 73′ Lucas BELTRAN sv)

Coach Vincenzo ITALIAN 5 – He doesn’t find a way to counter Empoli’s deployment and counterattacks. Clear step backwards after the triumph in Naples.

Empoli’s report cards

Etrit BERISHA 7 – When called upon he responds great, on Gonzalez twice and also on Mandragora. A nice way to keep the starting shirt after Caprile’s return.

Tyronne EBUEHI 6 – He punctually opposes Brekalo, even if on one occasion he risks the omelette with a ball lost at the bottom. And he gets along with Sottil too.

Sebastian WALUKIEWICZ 7 – Together with Luperto he wins the duel with Nzola. Promoted despite a yellow card in the second half. Nice through ball for Grassi in the action of Caputo’s goal.

Sebastiano LUPERTO 7 – The highlight of his match is a miraculous save on Martinez Quarta, almost free in front of Berisha. The icing on the cake of a very solid performance.

Liberato CACACE 6 – He has his own difficulties with Nico Gonzalez, as is obvious, but he also has the merit of holding his own against such an opponent (since 83′ Simone BASTONI sv)

Razvan MARIN 6 – Precious in the middle of the field. Andreazzoli takes him away when he needs fresher strength (from 66′ Jacopo FAZZINI 6.5 – He brings fundamental energy towards the end, offering Gyasi the perfect doubling ball)

Alberto GRASSI 7 – He embellishes with the winning assist for Caputo a match in which he stands out as a director, putting on his helmet in a difficult second half.

Youssef MALEH 6.5 – Ex of the match, leaves the pitch as the winner: promoted both in the phase of destroying the maneuver of others and in setting it up.

Matteo CANCELLIERI 6.5 – He plays a great first half, sprinting with the ball and going for both crosses and shots. In the second half his match was more about sacrifice (from 78′ Emmanuel GYASI 7 – He entered the field with the desire to break the world and he succeeded: his close-range shot closed the conversation)

Nicolò CAMBIAGHI 7 – The understanding with Caputo is excellent, even if he doesn’t take advantage of a couple of opportunities on the restart. The back heel that opens the doubling action is beautiful (from the 83rd minute Tommaso BALDANZI 6 – In just a few minutes he shoots and sends Destro towards goal)

Francesco CAPUTO 7.5 – He is reborn from his ashes, playing with the vitality of a boy. He scores a valid goal, sees another canceled and is a constant danger (from the 66th minute Mattia DESTRO 5.5-He devours the goal to make it 0-3 in injury time. Luckily for him it’s an error that will leave no trace )

Coach Aurelio ANDREAZZOLI 7.5 – His team plays the match perfectly, defending themselves without giving up counterattacking. Well deserved victory.
