The 30-year-old British Navy Sam Hammond recently held a half-marathon race in Brighton, carrying a 26-kilogram refrigerator on his back, and finished the race in 2 hours, 4 minutes and 13 minutes, breaking the Guinness World Record.
Sam’s original plan was to complete the 42.195-kilometer marathon on the London Marathon on April 23 with this refrigerator on his back. His participation in this half-marathon was actually just a part of his training plan, but he did not expect that he had already broken the record of “running a half-marathon with a refrigerator on his back”.
“Man vs Fridge” is Sam’s charity initiative to raise money for Military Mutual Aid. Sam is delighted that this action has gained attention and he hopes to finish it well at the London Marathon.
