The winter season was a total failure because of the Corona lockdown for the catering and hotel industry. The sums that the Federal Covid-19 Financing Agency (COFAG) has since paid out corona aid to the companies in order to save the companies from bankruptcy are correspondingly high. In the course of 21,261 approved applications, more than 442 million euros had flowed to the industry as lockdown sales compensation, fixed cost subsidies, cancellation bonus and loss compensation by mid-June.
