‘Final Fantasy XVI’ launch delayed by six months – ANTARA News Central Kalimantan

Square Enix and “Final Fantasy XVI” producer Naoki Yoshida reveal release

The long-awaited event had to be postponed for almost six months due to development disruptions due to COVID-19.

Hello everyone. When we last spoke, I promised to have more information about ‘Final Fantasy XVI’ sometime later in 2021. However, I regret to inform you that I will not be able to fulfill that promise due to complications stemming from the pandemic. Ongoing COVID-19 has delayed development game almost half a year,” Yoshida was quoted as saying in a written statement on Twitter, Friday.

Furthermore, Yoshida said that as the latest addition to the “Final Fantasy” series that is being developed for the PlayStation 5, “Final Fantasy XVI” has gathered a sizeable team of talented creators and artists from all over the world.

“However, in an effort to offset the impact of COVID-19, we have had to decentralize that workforce by allowing staff to handle their duties from home,” the producer said.

This caused delays and problems with communication, so Square Enix spent much of 2021 working on those issues so they could focus on key tasks more effectively in the new year.

“Unfortunately, this hindered communications from the Tokyo office, which, in turn, led to delays—or in extreme cases, cancellations—of asset deliveries from partners. outsourcing us,” he added.

Having said that, Yoshida said his team has spent much of 2021 tackling the issue, and hopes to see the impact to a minimum in the new year, allowing the team to focus more on the tasks at hand.

“Such as improving the quality of graphic resources, improving combat mechanics, perfecting individual battles, giving the final touches to cutscenes, and optimizing overall graphics,” said Yoshida.

“Our main goal now is to play this game to the fullest to see it fully polished.”

Yoshida said further information regarding the game is expected to appear in the spring of 2022.

“I deeply apologize to everyone who has been looking forward to ‘Final Fantasy XVI’, and thank you for your continued patience as we focus our combined efforts on development.”
