Final Fantasy 7 Remake: release postponed to April 10, 2020 – News

We will have to wait longer than expected before discovering the reinterpretation of Midgar in Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Square Enix announces that its release is delayed from March 3 to April 10, 2020.

Game producer Yoshinori Kitase spoke to explain the decision and apologize:

We know that many of you are eagerly awaiting the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake. To ensure that we offer a game that meets our vision and the quality expected by fans, we decided to shift the release date to April 10, 2020. We are making this difficult decision to give ourselves a few more weeks to apply the latest touch-ups to the game and offer you the best possible experience. On behalf of the whole team, I apologize to everyone because I know it means waiting a little longer. Thank you for your patience and continued support.

Final Fantasy VII Remake thus joins a month of April decidedly busy with major releases and slips between the remake of Resident Evil 3 (April 3) and Cyberpunk 2077 (April 16). As a reminder, the game will only cover events that have occurred in Midgar and will be exclusive PS4 temporary. Note that Square Enix also made the decision to postpone Marvel’s Avengers May 15 to September 4.
