In addition to the streaming offer included in the Prime subscription, Amazon also offers various channels as bookable packages. One such new channel has now started with “Superfresh”. He promises a number of new films. TECHBOOK took a closer look at the offer.
Superfresh can now be booked as a separate package for Amazon Prime Video. The first 14 days are free of charge as a test phase, after which the online retailer charges 6.99 euros per month for the channel. That is quite a sum when you consider that the basic subscription of Netflix, for example, is only one euro more expensive. So the question arises whether Superfresh is worthwhile alongside Amazon Prime Video.

The content of Amazon Superfresh
The new channel primarily includes current films and documentaries from a wide variety of genres. Many of the titles are larger productions that are not available to Prime customers with a regular subscription. Some of them can be borrowed for a fee of 0.99 to 3.99 euros. Others are only available for purchase outside of the channel and cost up to 16.99 euros. Superfresh bundles the films in one package and allows Amazon Prime Video users to stream them for a fixed monthly fee.
Koch Films GmbH is behind the content of Superfresh. Some of the films Amazon Prime Video customers can watch with Superfresh are brand new. These include, for example, the drama “A Child Like Jake” with Claire Danes and Jim Parsons, the true crime thriller “City of Lies” with Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker or the horror film “Superdeep”. But also celebrated older productions of recent years such as “Ip Man 3” with Donnie Yen, “Code 8” or “Der Nebelmann” are part of the Superfresh portfolio.

Also exclusive titles in the package
TECHBOOK wanted to know whether other streaming providers offer the named titles in their subscription. After all, many users have now booked more than one service and may also have a subscription to Netflix, Disney +, Joyn or Sky in addition to Prime Video. Apart from “Ip Man 3”, however, the named titles are not available with a subscription. That makes the Superfresh channel interesting for subscribing to Amazon Prime Video. Especially since you can cancel quite flexibly thanks to a term of one month.

Nevertheless, at 6.99 euros per month, Superfresh is one of the most expensive channels offered by Amazon Prime Video. Most of the others have prices from 1.99 to 5.99 euros per month. Interested parties should therefore look carefully to see whether the selection of films from Superfresh also meets their personal taste. Since Amazon offers a test phase of two weeks, the offer can at least be tested without risk.
