Al-Safaqsi coach Fathi Jebal revealed that an agreement has been reached with Hamza Mathlouthi, the team’s player, to complete the season before joining Zamalek.
He also indicated that Hussein Al-Sayed, the loaned player from Al-Ahly of Egypt, will return to Tunisia within the next two days.
“I thank the players for their discipline in training and for not being overweight,” Jebal said in comments to Tunisian IFM radio.
He explained, “The physical work is still ongoing through a week-long training program in Sfax and the other in the capital, Tunis, for two weeks, during which four friendly matches will be played against Al-Afriki, the Tunisian stadium, the star of Mitloui and JS Kairouan.”
On the situation of Mathlouthi, the Sfaxien coach said: “I will probably finish the season with the team before moving to Zamalek.”
He revealed, “after the two parties reached an initial agreement in this regard.”
“On the other hand, we are awaiting the return of Hussein Al-Sayed and Islam Bakir, in the next two days, to support the team,” he added.
“Our goal is clear, and that is to be in a position that allows us to participate in the Champions League, and accordingly we will define our position on the reinforcements of the new season,” he said.
Sixteen of the 26 rounds were held in the Tunisian League, and Sfaxien are second with 34 points, 10 points behind leaders Espérance.
CS Sfaxien is chasing the 31-point Monastir team in third place.
