Pyramids coach Ante Cacic said that his team deserved to win over Smouha, noting that they were better than their competitors during the meeting.
Pyramids defeated Smouha today, Friday, with two goals for a goal in the 21st round of the league at Alexandria Stadium.
The Croatian coach told Pyramids after the match: “We were better than Smouha, and we controlled the course of the match and wasted many chances.”
He continued, “Of course I preferred to resolve the match early, but I am happy to fight the players until the last minutes to bring victory.”
Cacic added, “I am happy with the players moving without a ball, but we played poorly to finish the attacks, and this matter we will work on in training to remedy mistakes.”
He stressed, “I do not think of anything at the moment except winning and improving our position in the table of standings, remedying mistakes and preparing well for the Confederation semi-finals against Horia.”
“I am not thinking about the deals now, but I focus with the players to achieve a continental title and to be in a good position in the league,” he said.
Thanks to that victory, Pyramids reached second place with 39 points, equal with Zamalek, the third, and the latter has a smaller match, and Al-Ahly will face tomorrow, Saturday.
