Osama Nabih, the former coach of Egypt, said that he was surprised by Hossam Ghaly’s reaction when they met in the UAE on the sidelines of analyzing the super match between Al-Ahly and Zamalek on February 20.
“Hossam Ghali’s reaction was great and elegant when we met in the Emirates, I preferred to wait for his reaction when we met, and he found him shaking hands and embracing me,” Nabih said on OnTime Sports.
“I fought a lot in order for Hossam Ghaly to join the team, to play the role of Abdullah Al-Saeed, because his physical inventory did not qualify him to perform the duties of Tariq Hamid and Mohammed Al-Nani.”
“But when the problem happened, Hector Cuper told me this was what I was fighting for, let me go, I will deal with myself, I have tried a lot to accommodate things and have flexibility, but Hossam Ghali did not and stuck to his opinion.”
In a related context, Osama Nabih continued, “I was saddened by the reason for Al-Ahly fans for me in the Emirates before the super game in 2017, I did not expect him, and if I expected him, the technical staff would not have completely landed on the field to greet the fans of the two clubs, because the technical staff was one block.”

He added, “However, the lack of renewal of the national team’s technical contract before the World Cup was an unfortunate step and a reason for the breakdown of things like the incident of electrification in the Saudi match.”
“Kahraba refused to abide by the technical instructions and indicated to us that our role has ended and the technical staff will leave,” he said.
Nabih pointed out, “Yes, Al-Hadary’s participation in the Saudi match was a tribute to him for his great role in qualifying for the 2018 World Cup and to contribute to achieving a record that will be recorded in his name and in the name of Egypt as the oldest player in the history of the World Cup.”
He stressed, “Even if the Saudi match was decisive in qualifying for the second round, Essam Al-Hadary participated, because he is fully qualified for big positions.”
