Mahmoud Rizk, Al-Ittihad defender of Alexandria, revealed the scenes of his injury in front of Al-Ahly.
Mahmoud Rizk suffered a broken nose during the Al-Ittihad-Alexandria-Al-Ahly match, which ended in a goalless draw.
Rizk said in statements to Zamalek TV: “I touched the ball before Ahmed Fathy, but he accidentally hit my face instead of the ball, and I felt that my nose was moving from its place. I did not feel anything after that.”
He added, “I suffered a broken nose and bruises in the facial bone, and I underwent an hour and a half surgery. I thank God that I did not suffer a fracture of the facial bone.”
Al-Ittihad defender continued, “Ahmed Fathy is like an older brother to me away from the ball. He did not leave me for a moment after the expulsion and came with me to the dressing room, and even the time of the operation did not pass a minute without calling to check on me.”
And he concluded, “What is said about the ball is not a violation and that I was the one who hit my head is the only sad thing. Focusing on whether the ball is a foul or not, without taking into account the health of a player who was seriously injured and his family worried about him is what made me sad.”
