FilGoal | News | Former England player: I was lucky to play with Egyptians like Sam Morsi … and caused Ronnie’s shot with Sayed Moawad

Former Liverpool and England defender Stephen Warnock recalled the memories of Egypt’s match against England in 2010.

Stephen Warnock, the 38-year-old English defender, played for Liverpool from 2002 to 2007, and today he is a guest at Tent in the Joule.

Stephen said: “When I relive Egypt’s confrontation in 2010, Egypt was technically excellent at the team level, but England was the most tactical.”

He added during his appearance with FilGoal.com On (Instagram): “The Egyptian players are strong and have skills, but we are tactically higher.”

“I was lucky to play with some Egyptians, such as Sam Morsi.”

Stephen Warnock played Sam Morsi at Wigan in 2016.

The former England player talked about Wayne Rooney’s snapshot with Sayed Moawad during the friendly face of the Pharaohs.

“Sometimes Rooney gets excited, he plays with passion and wants to always win,” Warnock said.

“Ronnie sometimes loses control of his feelings,” he continued.

He continued by saying, “There was competition among the clubs inside the England locker room 10 years ago, but now there is greater unity among the players, and they played together in the younger age groups and love each other.”

“Southgate does a great job, and what happened between Joe Gomez and Sterling was a transient and individual occurrence and does not reflect the whole situation,” he noted.
