Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has announced his departure from the Bavarian club at the end of his contract this season.
“I made a decision to leave Bayern Munich at the end of this season and try something new,” Alaba said at a press conference.
“It was clearly not an easy decision. I was here 13 years ago and the club means a lot to me.”
Alaba did not reveal his next destination, with press confirmations that he would contact Real Madrid.
The 28-year-old Austrian refused to renew his contract with Bayern Munich, which expires in June.
