FIFA world footballers: Lewandowski & Haaland on the shortlist – Flick & Tuchel among coaches

Neuer nominated as best goalkeeper

Erling Haaland and last year’s winner Robert Lewandowski are among the eleven candidates for the FIFA election for “World Player of the Year”. The world association also announced the names of the candidates for other categories on Monday. All winners will be announced on January 17, 2022 in a virtual TV show at FIFA headquarters in Zurich.

Due to the corona pandemic, the event has to take place as a virtual show. The period for voting is from November 22nd to December 10th. The national team coaches and their captains, journalists and fans vote in a combined election about the best players and coaches.
