FIFA threat to Bruges over Muriqi from Lazio

Lazio was preparing to sell Vedat Muriqi, who spent the second half of his last season in Mallorca, one of the Spanish League teams, and helped the team stay in the league, to Brugge, the Belgian League team. While the two sides reached an agreement of 11 million Euros, Brugge backed out of the agreement at the last moment, citing health reports.

Lazio, on the other hand, took action after Brugge got up from the table. The Italian team took the player through a health check again. It turned out that there was no problem in Muriqi’s condition and his form was also excellent.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Italy’s leading sports newspaper; Lazio will act on the grounds that Brugge has resorted to this route to abandon the transfer. Lazio, who plans to sit down at the table with Brugge first, will bring the event to FIFA if the Belgian authorities do not agree to this.

While Muriqi’s name is mentioned with Galatasaray and Fenerbahce; Mallorca also made an offer of up to 7 million Euros.

The Kosovar striker, who signed Lazio from Fenerbahçe for approximately 20 million Euros in September 2020, could not show the expected performance in the Italian team. Muriqi, who scored only two goals in 49 matches with the Roma team, later recovered in Real Mallorca, where he went on loan, and scored four goals and made three assists in 16 games.
