“FIE sent us a list of saber fencers that they can admit to international starts – there are no names familiar to the world in it. No Pozdnyakova, Velikaya, Yegoryan, [Елены] Nikitina, [Камиля] Ibrahimova, [Вениамина] Reshetnikov and many other promising strong guys, ”TASS quotes Mamedov.
On March 10, the Congress of the International Fencing Federation allowed Russians and Belarusians to take part in international competitions in a neutral status.
