Feyenoord made big sales with Tyrell Malacia, Luis Sinisterra, Marcos Senesi and Fredrik Aursnes. Almost the entire net transfer proceeds have been reinvested in the selection. If the depreciation on incoming transfers is taken into account, a player result of 16.5 million euros has been achieved.

Pieter Smorenburg, financial director, is satisfied with the figures. “The 2022-2023 season can be regarded as a break in the trend: continued sporting success leads to financial success, both in the growth of operational income and transfer income,” said Smorenburg at the Feyenoord website. ‘We would like to continue that. That is why we further invested in the selection last summer and replaced a number of rented players with our own players, both from our own youth and incoming transfers. All this is aimed at value creation. And we are of course very happy that Arne Slot has extended his contract until 2026.’
The prospects also seem to be positive by winning the national championship, which means they were able to secure direct qualification for the Champions League. ‘Due to the higher income from the UEFA Champions League, but also an increase in receipts and partnership income, turnover will rise further to well above 100 million euros.
