Wouter Burger plays the rest of the season for Excelsior Rotterdam. The 18-year-old midfielder immediately goes on a rental basis to his fellow townman from Kralingen. Burger’s agreement at Feyenoord will run until the summer of 2023.
Wouter Burger started in the Excelsior youth academy at the age of eleven, after which he switched to Feyenoord after one season. At Varkenoord, he went through all youth teams from the age of 13. His official debut for Feyenoord 1 followed on August 16, 2018, in the home match against AS Trencin in the preliminary round of the Europa League.
In the current season, Burger came to ten appearances for Feyenoord 1, in which he scored one goal.
Feyenoord and Burger decided on his temporary transition because it is important for his development that the young midfielder start playing resistance games every week in the coming period.
