Feyenoord starts on Thursday with Uros Spajic and Jens Toornstra in the away match against CSKA Moscow in the group stage of the Europa League. Eric Botteghin has to settle for a place on the bench.
Spajic was missing last Sunday in the away match against Fortuna Sittard (1-3 loss). The defender had been quarantined as a precaution due to a corona infection in the Serbian national team, of which he was a part last week.
Spajic takes Botteghin’s place in the heart of defense against CSKA. Compared to the duel with Fortuna, coach Dick Advocaat makes no further changes to his position.
There were doubts about the employability of Toornstra against CSKA, because he had minor complaints about the match against Fortuna. The midfielder can therefore just play.
Feyenoord still has a long list of injuries. Justin Bijlow, Sven van Beek, Ridgeciano Haps, Tyrell Malacia, Leroy Fer, Christian Conteh, Luis Sinisterra and Robert Bozeník, for example, cannot be used against CSKA.

Feyenoord plays in the snow
Chidera Ejuke appears at the kick-off at CSKA Moscow. The Nigerian attacker played for sc Heerenveen last season.
