Feyenoord will do everything they can to free Ibrahim Salah from Stade Rennes, L’Équipe reported on Sunday evening. The 22-year-old winger makes fewer minutes than desired in Ligue 1, which means he would like to get minutes elsewhere until the end of the current season. Salah has already been in the selection of the Moroccan national team five times, although he could not yet count on playing minutes.

The Rotterdam team has already contacted the Ligue 1 club to request Salah’s transfer status. Stade Rennes has apparently indicated that a rental transfer is possible.

According to reports from France, Salah is certainly interested in a (temporary) departure from Stade Rennes, where he has had fewer and fewer playing minutes in recent weeks.

Last January, Salah was transferred from KAA Gent for a fee of approximately 6.5 million euros. The left winger impressed in the opening phase of the current football season, but since November 12 he has only played thirteen minutes in Ligue 1.

In the opening match of the season, the winger immediately caught the eye, as he managed to score twice in six minutes in the match he won against FC Metz.

After the excellent opening match, Salah was given several chances by trainer Julien Stephan, but he was subsequently unable to fight for a starting spot with the current number ten in the competition. In total he scored three league goals in eleven appearances (252 minutes).

Feyenoord is not the only club interested in Salah’s services, as Toulouse, FC Lorient, Stade Brest, Leicester City and Olympiacos are also said to have already reported to Rennes.
