Fewer corona patients in hospitals, decrease in number of positive corona infections continues | Inland

The weekly average drops to 36,048. On Friday, this was still at 37,971. The weekly average has been falling since Friday, March 11, when there were 69,191 positive tests per day.

1233 infections were found in Amsterdam. Rotterdam had 903 positive corona tests and Utrecht 756, followed by The Hague (713), Groningen (441).

RIVM received twenty reports of people who have died from their corona infection. Deaths were recorded in Het Hogeland (Groningen), Zeist, Rheden (Gelderland) and Harderwijk, among others. The fact that they have now been reported does not mean that the deceased died within the past day.

Hospitals

The number of patients with corona in Dutch hospitals fell by 91 on Saturday to 1906, according to the most recent figures from the National Coordination Center for Patients Spreading (LCPS). That is the lowest number in almost a week.

In the nursing wards, 1757 people with corona are cared for, 97 less than Friday. There are now 149 in intensive care units. That is 6 more than the day before.

In the past 24 hours, 226 new corona patients were admitted to the nursing wards. 17 patients with corona were brought in on the ICs

Some of the patients who tested positive for the coronavirus were initially admitted for a different reason. After doing a corona test, it happens to be positive. The LCPS makes no distinction in the daily hospital figures between patients admitted with or because of corona.
