fever, cough, nausea… In what order do the symptoms occur?

Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, health professionals and scientists have been stating the symptoms that may indicate that a person has been infected. But researchers at the University of Southern California analyzed data from more than 55,000 confirmed cases to establish an order.

According to this study, published in the scientific journal Frontiers in Public Health, a patient will first have fever and a dry cough (sometimes causing severe breathing difficulties). He may then suffer from muscle aches. Then follow digestive symptoms such as nausea, vomiting or some diarrhea according to the patients.

This research could allow doctors to identify cases of Covid-19 contamination earlier, and especially to help to quickly differentiate from seasonal flu. Note that additional symptoms can occur depending on the patient. Loss of taste and smell, headaches or even loss of appetite, are also symptoms experienced by many patients.
