Festivals behind the spread of alcohol and bullying

Mahmoud El-Tohamy, captain of the vocalists, criticized the recent spread of festival songs in Egypt.

“I have no problem with festivals themselves because they are looking to eat live, but considering these songs as the first art in Egypt is a real catastrophe,” Al-Tohamy said during a telephone interview with the journalist Ahmed Moussa, on the program “On My Responsibility” on Sada Al-Balad.

“Egypt, Abdel-Wahab, Umm Kulthum, and Abdel-Halim, became elsewhere because of the songs of the festivals,” Al-Tohami added, adding, “I am against vulgarity and the festivals only offer alcohol, bullying and audio pollution.”
