Fest Galicia will offer virtual concerts this summer- La Guia GO!

The network of festivals included in Fest Galicia will offer virtual concerts this summer.

The Xunta de Galicia will continue to provide support to the professional summer music festivals that make up its Fest Galicia brand, channeling the financial contribution through the Fest Galicia online Xacobeo 2021 program, which will support online concerts and other related activities.

This initiative, to reactivate the cultural and tourist sectors against the effects derived from the Covid-19, will have an investment of 400,000 euros to develop online concerts and other series of activities, starting in July, agreed with the Association of Festival of Galicia and with each of the appointments included in the initiative.

In recent days, several of the Fest Galicia events have been postponed to 2021, such as the Atlantic Fest, PortAmérica, SonRías Baixas, Resurrection Fest, SinSal SON Estrella Galicia and the WOS Festival.

For this reason, the priority of this new project is to financially support production companies so that next year they can return with editions and posters “as outstanding” as those initially planned for 2020, the Xunta highlighted.

Fest Galicia online Xacobeo 2021 offers these events a new dissemination platform to keep in touch with their public with a coordinated program of online concerts starting in July, primarily with Galician bands, as well as other activities that will take into account the characteristics of each of the events.

Unusual measures for an exceptional situation.

The festivals are part of the Fest Galicia platform: PortAmérica (Caldas de Reis), Resurrection Fest (Viveiro), Atlantic Fest (Vilagarcía de Arousa), Vive Nigrán, Sinsal SON Estrella Galicia (San Simón Island, Redondela), 17º Ribeira Sacra (Monforte de Lemos), SonRías Baixas (Bueu), Revenidas (Vilagarcía de Arousa), Cantos na Maré (Pontevedra), Under Fest (Vigo) Festival de la Luz (Boimorto), Caudal Fest (Lugo) and WOS Festival (Santiago) .

Events such as Atlantic Fest, PortAmérica, Resurrection Fest, SinSal SON Estrella Galicia and WOS Festival have already confirmed in recent days that they will not take place in 2020. Yesterday SonRias Baixas de Bueu was added to the list.

Outside this list of festivals, one of the most important in Galicia, the Northwest of A Coruña is working on “a total reprogramming”, waiting for the clarification of “what can and cannot be done in public spaces, meetings and other measures “, as indicated by the City Council of a Coruña.

The 17th Ribeira Sacra does not rule out developing in a reduced format. In a statement released on their social networks, they talk about the possibility of “being able to hold a very special edition, in a smaller format and with less capacity than usual.”
