Ferrari F1, three days of testing at Fiorano for Leclerc, Sainz, Giovinazzi and Shwartzman

The Prancing Horse is planning a mini session (with the SF-21) to get the riders used to them again in view of the upcoming season

If February will be the month of the single-seater presentations and March that of the start of the World Championship, the current January will be the month of training and the “winter rust” to be removed. In fact, as happened last year, the teams have planned a few days on the track for the current month to help the drivers regain confidence with speed in view of the start of the season, which will see them get on the new machines only from the 23rd to the 25th February, the only pre-season test session scheduled for everyone.

A useful job for the pilots, but also for the members (including the new additions) of the teams to test procedures and working methods. Ferrari will repeat last year’s work and has scheduled three days at Fiorano to run in all the team’s drivers, owners Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, but also reserves Antonio Giovinazzi and Robert Shwartzman. The holders will have a full day each, for the others half a day each. The test will take place with an SF-21. McLaren and Aston Martin will instead take to the track in Jerez taking advantage of the Pirelli tests

so last year

Last year, the Fiorano tests with the SF71H saw Ferrari complete a total of 272 laps, equal to 811 km: 165 laps completed by Shwartzman, engaged on the track in the first two days, then 59 and 48 by Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, both on the final day.
