Ferrari Embraces Digital Assets as Payment Method in the US: Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDC Accepted

Italian car manufacturer Ferrari has added digital assets as a payment method in the US. In the first quarter of 2024, the function will appear in Europe, writes Reuters.

According to Ferrari commercial and marketing director Enrico Galliera, the decision was made in response to requests from dealers and customers, many of whom purchased cryptocurrencies.

“Some of them are young investors who have built their fortunes in digital assets. Others are more traditional investors looking to diversify their portfolios,” he said.

Ferrari has entered into a partnership with the processing service BitPay, which will convert the received assets into fiat. At the initial stage, the company accepts Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDC stablecoin.

“This will help us connect with people who are not necessarily our customers but can afford a Ferrari. […] Prices will not change, no commissions or surcharges when paying through cryptocurrencies,” Galliera noted.

Ferrari delivered more than 1,800 vehicles in North America in the first half of 2023. The company did not specify how many vehicles they plan to sell with payment in cryptocurrency.

Let us remind you that in January, the German car manufacturer Porsche released its own NFT collection.

In May 2022, Italian fashion house Gucci began accepting payments in digital assets at five US stores.
