Arrival Fran Garcia will create a left-back rivalry Real Madrid increasingly intense. Signs Ferland Mendy eliminated?

Fran Garcia became Madrid’s first recruit this summer after being brought in from Rayo Vallecano with a tag of 5 million euros. Fran is contracted until 2027 and will wear the number 20 shirt.

Fran’s presence will certainly make Madrid’s back line even more complete because he is a left-back figure that is needed. The Madrid Academy graduate scored five goals and eight assists during his three years strengthening Rayo.

This is also the answer to the left-back crisis that Madrid faced last season, which cost them the LaLiga and Champions League titles. Mendy, who should have filled that position, had to be sidelined repeatedly due to injury.

He only made one assist out of 28 appearances in all competitions. This condition annoyed coach Carlo Ancelotti and he even used David Alaba or even Eduardo Camavinga more often at left-back. There is a possibility that Mendy will be sold this summer in order to increase the transfer funds.

Even though he was predicted to be Mendy’s competitor, Fran was humble and felt that she still had to prove herself before she could become a starter.
