Femke Merel van Kooten leaves Party for the Future after three months NOW

Member of Parliament Femke Merel van Kooten leaves the Party for the Future of former 50PLUS leader Henk Krol after three months, she reports in an interview to the AD Wednesday evening.

In the interview, Van Kooten says she feels cheated by Krol. She would not have been involved in discussions about the announced merger between the Party for the Future and the GO party of Henk Otten, former member of the Forum for Democracy.

“Henk Krol lied to me about this. He promised that the two of us would determine the political line, but it now appears that Otten is pulling the strings. My principles do not go together with his and that is why I get out”, says Van Kooten against it AD.

Van Kooten will now continue as an independent Member of Parliament. A year ago, Van Kooten left the Party for the Animals because she was too much of a party one-issuepartij found.

In early May, Van Kooten joined the new party of Henk Krol, who left his party 50PLUS because of a fight.
