Ahmed Felix, the former Ghana national and Al-Ahly player, stated that failure to fulfill the club cost him not to be present among the club’s legends after he agreed to play for Al-Ahly.
“I did not do the appropriate research,” Felix said in his remarks to Ghana’s ASEMBA FM radio. “I had to do the verification and reject the offer that Zamalek made in order to contract me.”
He continued: “Because of my move to Zamalek, most of Al-Ahly’s fans are angry with me, because they feel that this transfer affected my image as a legend inside the club.”
He added, “They wanted to set up a center to develop Ghana’s young players here for the sake, but the fanatical Al-Ahly fans protested this matter and it was not completed.”
He concluded, “So until this time, the move to Zamalek has affected me tremendously, so they consider me as one of the best foreigners who ever played for Al-Ahly, and without this step I would have benefited from the club so far.”
Ahmed Felix is currently working as assistant coach for El Mina Sharks in the Ghana League.
