It is not surprising that famous Chinese snacks such as Konjac Soup, Latiao, Sumaodu, and Huang Feihong Spicy Peanuts are found in various markets and online platforms in Taiwan. Since the Ministry of Economic Affairs has not approved the import, most of them are smuggled or Single-handed customers were brought into the country; stalls at the “Xinle Street” night market in Kaohsiung, which was limited to the Spring Festival, were reported for selling. The health bureau seized 2,064 packages of illegal food on the spot.

The Health Bureau stated that the relevant public reported through the media that a market stall was selling Chinese food without Chinese labels. The Health Bureau sent personnel to inspect on the 23rd. and Konjac Shuang hot and sour kimchi products, the outer packaging has no Chinese label and the industry cannot provide relevant information on import permits, which involves violations of Articles 22 and 30 of the Food Safety and Sanitation Management Law and Article 47, Paragraph 8, and Article 14 of the same law. According to the regulations, a fine of NT$30,000 to NT$3 million can be imposed; the Health Bureau sealed a total of 2,064 packages of 3 products on site.
