Granada surprised the favorites and took the lead after just seventeen seconds thanks to Diego Martinez, who made it 2-0 in the 29th minute. Barcelona reduced in the added time of the first half.
At the age of 16 years and 87 days, Lamine Yamal became the youngest scorer in the history of the competition. Until now, it was Fabrice Olinga from Malaga, who opened his La Liga scoring record at the age of 16 years and 98 days. Barcelona stepped up the pressure in the second half and it resulted in Sergi Roberto’s equalizing goal in the 86th minute.
