The Republican is among those being investigated by the committee investigating the storming of Congress last January, when Trump supporters attacked when Joe Biden’s election victory was to be approved.
It is not clear why the FBI seized Perry’s phone. He himself says that the USA is becoming a banana republic. Three agents approached him when he was traveling with his family on Tuesday and seized his phone, says Perry.
– They made no attempt to contact my lawyer, who could have made sure they got my phone if that was what they wanted. I am outraged, but not surprised, that the FBI under Attorney General Merrick Garland is seizing the phone of a member of Congress, says Perry.
He is elected to the House of Representatives from Pennsylvania for the Republicans.
On Monday, FBI agents went into action against former President Donald Trump’s home in Florida. It happened in the investigation that Trump allegedly took classified documents there with him when he stepped down as president.
