No bell triggers, but a malfunction caused the smart doorbell Ring to ring without anyone at the door. That happened last Wednesday, in the Netherlands, the United States and the United Kingdom. Website Tweakers received reports from users who were still startled by the doorbell late in the evening.
‘No one is at the door’
Also on website Allestoringen the problem is reported. “This afternoon someone was at the door and the bell didn’t ring, now it rings without anyone standing there”, Anouk writes on the website.
According to Ring, the cause of the failure lies with the infrastructure, which delayed the processing of signals. As a result, the doorbell could not ring until later than it was pressed. Ring has now resolved the malfunction.
