There is no doubt that a father would do anything for a son, even risk being charged by a bull to save his life, like a man from Texas.
Cody Hooks, a young horseman who was pulled by a bull last month at the County Expo Center in Belton, Texas. Falling to the ground, 18-year-old Cody is knocked unconscious and without a second thought, his father Landis Hooks throws himself and hugs him to protect him from the bull.
In the video you can see how Landis clings to Cody’s body and the moment the bull charges them but, fortunately, the father’s maneuver works and the son is unharmed.
Cody, originally from Louisiana, posted the video of the events on his Twitter account. Instagram.
In the publication, Cody thanks the riders who immediately jumped into the ring to distract the bull and, of course, his father.
Not a post that goes down but a big thank you to my dad @hooks.landis and the bullfighters last night in belton tx could have been so much worse. #blessed,” the post reads.
What happened to Cody after falling from the bull?
Despite the spectacular incident and the fact that he was very lucky, Cody assured that he will not give up and encouraged other young rodeo cowboys who have had a difficult time in their career.
“Don’t let that stop you. It’s going to happen, get ready for it, it’s coming. One day or another, you can’t help it,” he wrote.
“You just have to go through it, you know. Don’t let go,” added the young bull rider.
Cody also assured that very soon he would ride bulls again.
