A young man was killed and his brother injured in an armed brawl in Dhi Qar Governorate, due to a Facebook post, according to a security source, on Monday.
The source told local media that “a 23-year-old man died, while his 25-year-old brother was injured, following an armed fight in a village in Al-Rifai district, north of Dhi Qar Governorate, due to a post on Facebook.”
He also pointed out that “the victim received a gunshot wound to the neck, which led to his immediate death, while his brother was shot in the back.”
It is noteworthy that during the last period, the murder rate witnessed a significant increase in Iraq.
Analysts believe that this is due to the security, health and economic disturbances in the country, as well as widespread poverty and unemployment.
