Everyone had fashionable failures: either dream sneakers rub their legs to the blood, or an expensive sweater rolls up after the first wash.

It is easy to step on this rake, even if you buy clothes and shoes from large and advertised brands, which, it would seem, can trust. We asked readers of Tinkoff Magazine to share their stories about the most unsuccessful purchases of clothes, shoes and accessories. We have compiled a list of stores whose products should be carefully examined to meet your criteria for durability and aesthetics during your next shopping.

Ecco

I had to walk a lot while working as an incoming computer master. Ecco sneakers knocked cleaner feet no-name brand for 500 R. In places where the seams, as if sandpaper walked.

Ecco sandals were perhaps the first purchase of expensive shoes that I allowed myself. They were very cute and insanely comfortable, but fell apart after a month. The warranty period had passed, it was impossible to return the pair, the workshop said that the shoes could not be repaired. It was insanely embarrassing. Even the summer did not leave them. Since then, I have avoided the brand.

Ecco is a real disappointment. Until recently, I bought shoes mainly from them, but a few recent purchases forced me to abandon the brand: the boots literally lived for a season, they were not subject to repair. Likewise with sneakers. I switched to Geox shoes, so far I’m satisfied.

Bought two pairs of Ecco 15 years ago. Killed them in eight years, decided to buy a couple more. I thought five years would be enough.

The sole was worn out in three months, and the price was extremely biting. I was disappointed in Ecco to the fullest, now I bypass it.

I had Ecco winter boots. I have never seen shoes with more slippery soles.

H&M

I live in the Far East. H&M entered the region just seven years ago. At that time, there was only one Zara store from the popular foreign mass market, so I was really looking forward to the opening of H&M.

As a result, until 2022, I didn’t try on a single thing there, although I periodically went to look. Firstlythere was no desire to rummage through a large amount of junk, hung haphazardly. Secondly, unlike the pictures from the site and bloggers, things look very bad even on hangers. Everything is in spools, puffs, materials are such that it is obvious: it will stretch and fade after the first wash. By Same I don’t take anything from Melon Fashion Group: Zarina, Befree, Love Republic. The styles are not bad, but the quality for one season does not suit me.

I have questions about fabrics for H&M. There is no desire to buy things from pure synthetics. Plus design for an amateur.

Disappointed with H&M. Worst quality. Austin and that one are better in places – I’m talking about shirts, trousers, jackets.

Tommy Hilfiger

A recent disappointment is Tommy Hilfiger. Overpriced junk: shoes, cheap shirts and T-shirts are so-so, as luck would have it.

All Tommy Hilfiger shoes are tough and unwearable.

Don’t guess here: some things can be of high quality and last a long time – two of my jackets are in their third year and they look like new. A some can be uncomfortable, clumsy, with protruding threads and wear out quickly – shoes, socks.

Palm Angels

Palm Angels sneakers: the heel on the sole was worn out in cabbage soup in three months. At a discount in Tsum I bought a pair in the region of 15,000 Rwithout discount cost 34 000 R.

I thought that for that kind of money I would wear sneakers forever.

Calvin Klein

Bought Calvin Klein jeans for 8500 in 2002 R — broke quickly.

In 2001 I took Calvin Klein Underwear panties for 2500 R – although they were pleasant to the touch, the fabric rolled up.

Timberland

Timberland boots – not yellow, but a different model with a zipper – left an ugly impression. When they broke in, they became like bast shoes: no support for the legs, while heavy and uncomfortable. Well, at least I took it on Yoox – three times cheaper than in Russian stores. I wear Dr. Martens, Trask, Moma, New Balance – everything is perfect in them!

Levi’s

Bought Levi’s jeans for 9000 R in 2015. Broke after five months. They were true to size and rarely worn. Since then, I am not ready to pay more than 2000 R for steam.

Levi’s jeans do not sit well on every female figure. If you are unlucky enough to be among those who suit their models, then jeans spoil the look more than emphasize the dignity. And the price is too high, the models cannot be said to be the most successful: there are a lot of conservative styles for high growth.

When I began to earn more or less normally, I bought the first Levi’s jeans in their company store. Two months later they began to rub everywhere and after six months they fell into disrepair. I thought that I was out of luck, and bought a pair again – Same most. Since then, for eight years, I have bought everything denim only in GAP, and there were no problems, things were worn consistently for a year or more. Too bad they left, of course.

Pinko

I sold out the Pinko bags and breathed a sigh of relief. Their classic models are one of the most uncomfortable bags in principle, at least for me.

The Pinko bag didn’t fit. The skin is already very delicate, after five socks it found scuffs, as if it had been used for five years.

Ash

Ash sneakers have worn a roller on the heel. Then the filler crawled out of it, so that shreds flew out every time the shoes were taken off. The plastic form on the heel was also shattered – the inner lining spilled out. Here are your crosses for 20,000 R 🙂

A friend also had Ash, after two weeks the mesh on the sneakers came off, fell apart along the seam. By the way, New Balance has been like new for ten years, especially after snickers-cleaners.

The heel wore out very quickly. She is still iron there, it has become impossible to wear. Plus, they quickly lost their presentation. New Balance and Nike wear much longer.

Vans

My husband bought Vans sneakers in America. Their rag top faded in just three months, although the sneakers were not worn very much in the sun, mainly in the office. I decided to give the brand a second chance and bought a similar model for myself, but completely made of suede. As a result, I can’t walk more than 300 meters in them: a very hard heel, erases my leg into the blood. It was hard to see it in the store when trying it on. So while they are almost new, I think to sell.

Vans quickly cracked the sole at the fold, my friends also had this.

Mango

I never understood the love for Mango: at a price higher than that of the neighbors on the floor in the shopping center, such as Bershka or Reserved, the fabrics were even worse than the models from H&M. True, the Committed collection was an exception, but it appeared not so long ago.

Econics

Bought somehow summer white leather sandals from Alla Pugacheva from Ekonika. The shoes turned out to have such thin skin that it lost its appearance in ten minutes and acquired not very pretty creases. I then read the reviews – many wrote about it. So and so shoes cost about 13,000 R, at prices three years ago, that’s decent. For me at least.
