Nadezhda Strelchuk with her husband Anatoliy and two children – Yulia and Dima, who have lost their parents and are now under the care of the Strelchuks – have returned from Western Ukraine, where they took refuge from the horrors of war for a whole year.
The main living is now arranged in a barn. As long as it is summer and warm, you can live like that, there is even a shower room in the yard. But what it will be like in winter is hard to even fathom.
While the big house is still in ruins, nine-year-old Dima has built a small house for the cat Sniedzińs. Dima and his sister Yulia, together with their grandparents Aleksandar and Nadezhda, are determined to stay in Mirna.
