Family Guy scores with mini-episode in which Stewie explains vaccines (with Meg as the virus) | show

The creators of the American animated series Family Guy have collected tens of thousands of likes in a short time with a new mini-episode. In it, the popular characters Stewie and Brian Griffin enter Peter’s body to explain how vaccines against the coronavirus work. As always, Meg comes off badly: she plays the part of Covid-19.

The almost four-minute video shows how Peter Griffin in the hospital has his doubts about the corona jab. He first wants to know exactly how the vaccine works. Because the ever-incompetent Doctor Hartman doesn’t explain it well, Peter’s talking baby Stewie picks up the gauntlet. Together with Brian, he travels into Peter’s body, to experience typical Family Guy– way to explain.

He explains, among other things, that a vaccine creates antibodies in the blood, which also protect against the virus. It is played by an army of evil-looking Meg Griffins, who are all killed by burly blue body guards, the antibodies. By the end of the video, Peter has heard enough. ,,I’ve changed my mind. Something in me tells me to take the shot.”

He still asks for a warning before the injection, because he is afraid of needles. But at that moment he appears to have already had the injection. Of course a sneer can go to The Simpsons, the animation rivals of the Griffins, are not missing. “Is that a goddamn Bart Simpson patch?”

Finally understandable

The mini-episode appeared on the program’s accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram yesterday, where the video received tens of thousands of likes in a short time. Although some fans do not understand that the animated series suddenly promotes vaccines and still refuse a shot, the posts are mostly praise.

“Finally someone explains it in a way that I understand,” someone writes, for example. Someone else called the video ‘brilliant’. ‘Thank you for doing this. As someone who has lost loved ones to the virus, I really appreciate this.”

All four characters are voiced by Seth Macfarlane, who also wrote the lyrics. “We’re proud to work with some of the country’s most renowned immunologists and epidemiologists,” producers Rich Appel and Alec Sulkin said in a statement. Variety. “And while we didn’t understand any of their improvements, we adopted them all.”
