ShowbitOn Saturday, at the Lotto Arena in Antwerp, the biggest party for the “Family” in Flanders took place. More than 15,000 fans came to celebrate the soap opera’s 30th anniversary. Old acquaintances could be identified both in the audience and on stage. For example, Jacky Lafon, whose last day of filming was in 2015, returned as Rita Van den Bossche on a one-off basis. To the general public, Lafon is best known as “Zatte Rita”. Jacky couldn’t believe her happiness when she was greeted again and again with loud applause: “It was really great, after all the misery in my private life, it was really good,” she tells Jarne.
