The famous physicist died in 2018 at the age of 76. Hawking suffered from a neurological condition and was almost completely paralyzed. Among other things, he was treated in a hospital that now received his ventilator.
Shortage of equipment
Daughter Lucy praised the care her father received at the Royal Papworth Hospital. She told the BBC that the family contacted “old friends” at that hospital to ask if they could do something about the current corona crisis. This has led to shortages of respirators in many countries.

The hospital has checked and commissioned the physicist’s respirator. “It was great that the Hawking family got back in touch and we are extremely grateful that they donated this equipment,” said a driver according to the British broadcaster.
